NEUFC play 2-2 draw against Mumbai

GUWAHATI, Nov 27 - Hosts NorthEast United FC played 2-2 draw against Mumbai City FC in their Hero ISL match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here today.

It was an exciting first session when all the goals were scored. The Highlanders took an early lead as Panagiotis Triadis smashed the ball into the back of the net in the very 9th minute.

However, stung by the reverse the visiting team made a well planned move and Amine Chermiti drew parity in the 23rd minute. Continuing their dominance, Mumbai�s Chermiti struck again in the 32nd minute executing a bicycle kick to put his team 2-1 ahead.

But it was NEUFC star striker Asamoah Gyan who made his presence felt to level the scoreline with an eyecatching goal in the 42nd minute.

In the 82nd minute, the host team came close of scoring as Rakesh Pradhan floated in a cross from the left flank and anticipating the ball Triadis unleashed a drive but the shot was blocked by the Mumbai keeper.

With this drawn match the Highlanders moved to the fourth spot in the table with nine points from five matches.
