By Sports Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 25 - NorthEast United FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Jamshedpur FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai here today.

It was brilliant team work among Nikhil Kadam, Federico Gallego and Bartholomew Ogbeche which resulted in the opening goal for the hosts. Nikhils low cross from the left flank found Gallego, who anticipated at the top of the box before finding Ogbeche. The tricky striker got the better of a Jamshedpur defender and shot home with a first-timer and thus sending the crowd into frenzy. It was Ogbeches fifth goal in this season.

After conceding the goal the visiting team made a brilliant counter-attack through Carlos Calvo who made a cruise down the left flank and unleashed a shot at goal in the 22nd minute. But the ball hit the upright. During the remaining part of the first session, Jamshedpur FC had a better ball possession.

The Highlanders received a jolt just before the break as Mislav Komorski was sent off for lashing out an elbow on Carlos Calvo. The visiting team made a brilliant start in the second session and fired the equaliser in the 49th minute through Farukh Choudhary.

Pablo Morgado fed Farukh with a header off a floater sent from the left. The unmarked Jamshedpur striker smashed it into the net, leaving NEUFC goalkeeper Pawan Kumar with no scope to save.

After the equaliser, the 10-men host team looked losing their temper and Redeem Tlang was booked in the 61st minute.
