NEISSR students conduct field visit at Rangiya

RANGIYA, July 22 - Four PG students of North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR), Dimapur in Nagaland have conducted an agricultural field study at Dholkuchi area here. The students visited the paddy fields and interacted with around 30 local farmers and cultivators. The students tried to gather knowledge on the nature of seasonal crops being grown in the area, nature of agricultural techniques and types of fertilizers used besides other vital aspects. Soil fertility, extension of agricultural, bank loans, and required agricultural training parts for the local farmers were also included in the area of field study by the students in the said village often plagued by perennial floods. It may be mentioned here that the students were benefitted with the experience shared by the cultivators who urged the State agricultural department for bringing in more change to increase agricultural production.

Local farmer Lohit Boro, entrepreneur Nipon Bhuyan, Manager of Assam Apex Bank Ltd., Rangiya branch, Diganta kakati assisted the students in the entire field tour. The NEISSR students group expressed their happiness over the hospitality and support extended by the villagers of the locality. It is worth mentioning here that the same group earlier had undergone a 45 days extensive training at Sonapur area organised by Spread NE NGO of the said locality.
