GUWAHATI, June 2 - Charitable trust Development Concern International has distributed 500 food packets and 500 water bottles to the needy during the lockdown. The areas covered by DCI were Hatigaon, Dispur, Jatia, Ganeshguri, Christian Basti, Bhangagarh, Ulubari, Rehabari, Sarabhati, Sluice Gate, Fatasil Ambari, Kachari Basti, Guwahati Railway Station, Pan Bazar, Lakhtokia, Bharalumukh, Chabipul Bilpar, Shantipur, Bhootnath, Maligaon, Pandu and Paltan Bazar.
The ITC Limited on Monday handed over 17,454 packets of fruit juice and 33,720 packets of milk to the Kamrup (M) district administration for distribution among the inmates of quarantine centres.
Tultul Kachari, a small businessman who has been feeding the poor continuously during the lockdown, today distributed light meals to the needy at Ganeshguri, Bhangagarh, RG Baruah Road, Ulubari, Chandmari, Guwahati Club, etc.
