�Need to follow path shown by theosophists�

GUWAHATI, Jan 19 - In a world torn by two World Wars and disturbed by over a hundred wars, one can seek salvation and see the perpetual light of peace only through the moral and spiritual path shown by great theosophists of the world.

Observing this at a meeting of the Guwahati Senior Citizens� Association (GSCA), Bimal Kumar Hazarika, retired bureaucrat and a senior theosophist, spoke on the ideals of the Theosophical Society founded by Madam Blavatsky, Dr Annie Besant and Col Olcott. He said war could be eliminated only through the training of the minds of people across the world.

Presiding over the meeting, senior journalist DN Chakravartty spoke on the need to amend the Citizenship Act �in order to accommodate the hopes, aspirations and anxieties of the people of Assam and the North East�.

Hemchandra Sarma, GSCA secretary for public relations, also spoke during the meeting, while retired principal Dr Chandraprabha Bhuyan released the latest issue of the association�s journal Prasanti.
