NEC ties up with NPC

SHILLONG, June 18 - The North Eastern Council (NEC) and the National Productivity Council (NPC) have agreed on a tie up on capacity building and evaluation of projects.

NPC Director General, Amita Prasad visited the NEC Secretariat here today and discussed with NEC Secretary, Ram Muivah, Secretary on the possibility of a Memorandum of Understanding to train NEC officials in the area of project implementation and management.

The proposed MoU would also include third party evaluation of projects, energy auditing, and digitization for smart governance. The NEC officials expressing optimism on the tie- up said it would provide improved capacity in project implementation and management initiated by the Council.

On the other hand the NPC DG has requested States of the North East to approach the NPC with proposals for capacity building programmes and have similar MoUs with the NPC to train the State officials.

NPC is a National level organization with the objective to promote productivity culture in India. Established by the Ministry of Industry, in 1958, it is an autonomous, multipartite, non-profit organization.
