Nearly 80% voting recorded in Baksa dist

JALAH, Dec 7 - The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, 2020 in 932 polling station of Baksa district today recorded nearly 80 per cent voting.

An official statement mentioned that there were 78 polling stations in 20 Mathanguri (Open) BTC seat and 95 polling stations in 21 Salbari (ST) BTC seat under Salbari subdivision in Baksa district, which witnessed voter turnout of 81.76 % between 7.30 am and 4.30 pm. The poll was peaceful in the subdivision.

The release added that there were 97 polling stations in 22 Koklabari (ST) BTC seat, 87 polling stations in 23 Dihira (Open) BTC seat, 93 polling stations in 24 Mushalpur (ST) BTC seat and 100 polling stations in 25 Baganpara (ST) BTC seat under Mushalpur subdivision in the district. These polling stations witnessed 79% voter turnout between 7.30 am and 4.30 pm. The polling here too was peaceful.

The release further added that there were 75 polling stations in 26 Darangajuli (ST) BTC seat, 62 polling stations in 27 Nagrijuli (Non-ST) BTC seat, 87 polling stations in 28 Goibari (ST) BTC seat, 68 polling stations in 29 Suklai Serfang (ST) BTC seat and 90 polling stations in 30 Goreswar (ST) BTC seat under Tamulpur subdivision and the percentage of votes cast in the subdivision was 79.26%.
