GUWAHATI, Aug 29 - The North East Social Impact Awards 2015, instituted by the North East Development Foundation, were given away at a function held at the NEDFi House Auditorium in the city on Friday.
There were nominations under 10 categories � advocacy and empowerment, culture and heritage, education, environment, health, livelihood skill development, entrepreneurship and employability, social gender and financial inclusion, technology for development, women empowerment, and youth development and empowerment.
Don Bosco in WWF nat�l quiz
GUWAHATI, Aug 29 - Don Bosco School, Panbazar will represent Assam in the national final of the WWF Wild Wisdom Quiz, 2015 to be held in New Delhi on October 7, during the Wildlife Week. This was stated by Archita Baruah Bhattacharyya of WWF-India in a press release today.
Don Bosco clinched the opportunity as Kaustav Kalita and Bhraaz Kashyap won the Assam City-level Wild Wisdom Quiz of WWF-India, which was organised in association with Ministry of Earth Sciences and Central Board of Secondary Education at the Royal Global School auditorium here on August 26.
The top three teams of the national final will win an adventure trip to Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh.
Altogether 36 schools from various parts of the State participated in the city-level quiz.
The winners of the junior level quiz were Mohixit Goswami and Abhinandarupa Mahanta of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Rajgarh. The 2nd position was claimed by Adhiraj Kar and Navneel Chakraborty of DPS, Guwahati, while the 3rd position was won by Krishti Nayana Nath and Soumyaditya Deb of Don Bosco, Guwahati.
