NE sepaktakraw meet mooted

GUWAHATI, Feb 13 � The North East Sepaktakraw Association (NESA) is planning to hold a sepaktakraw championship among the north-eastern States.

The executive council of NESA yesterday in its meeting, held at the Assam Olympic Association, has resolved to organise a demonstration of the game in Meghalaya next month.

The meeting, held with NESA president Bishnuram Nunisa in the chair, also had threadbare discussion on their plans to development the game in the NE States. Y Dohia, vice-president of the Sepaktakraw Federation of India and Bimal Paul, secretary of West Bengal Sepaktakraw Association were present in the meeting as observer and invited guest respectively.

The meeting also set up the NESA body where Bishnuram Nunisa has been retained as president. RK Snehal (Assam), Darendra Singh (Manipur), were named vice-presidents while L Upendra Singh of Manipur became the secretary. IR Royte (Mizoram) and Lanu Yaben (Nagaland) have been nominated as joint secretary and assistant secretary of the body respectively. The meeting also nominated Parimal Sinha of Assam and all the secretaries of the State bodies have been nominated as members.
