GUWAHATI, May 3 - The ongoing rainfall activities over the NE region for the past several days have made the rivers of the region swell. According to the flood bulletin of the Central Water Commission (CWC), the Desang (at Nanglamaraghat in Sivasagar district) and the Puthimari (at NH Road Crossing in Kamrup district) have crossed their respective warning levels. However, while the Desang is maintaining a rising trend, the Puthimari is maintaining a falling trend.

The CWC bulletin added that the Brahmaputra is maintaining a rising trend at all its gauge stations at Dibrugarh, Neamatighat, Tezpur, Guwahati, Goalpara and Dhubri.

On the other hand, the Subansiri (at Chouldhowaghat in Lakhimpur district), Siang (at Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh), Burhidihing (at Naharkatia and Khowang in Dibrugarh district), Dhansiri (South) (at Numaligarh in Golaghat district), Kopili (at Dharamtul in Nagaon district), Pagladiya (at NT Road Crossing in Nalbari district), Manas (at NH Road Crossing in Barpeta district), Beki (at Road Bridge in Barpeta district), Gaurang (at Kokrajhar) and Gumti (at Sonamara in West Tripura district) are maintaining rising trend this evening, the CWC bulletin added.
