NE MPs urged to take steps for anti-racial law

By Correspondent

IMPHAL, March 5 The Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has urged the MPs of the Northeastern States to take steps for the anti-racial law and to pressurise the concerned parties to include history of NE in the syllabus of the educational institutions in the mainland.

This was conveyed by the spokesperson of MSF during a press conference in Imphal after MSF volunteers conducted an 18-day survey in connection with the attack on NEs students in New Delhi.

The recent attack on the NE people was an act of racial discrimination, said the MSF spokesperson and demanded a white paper on the action report by the government within 15 days time.

He further said that the functioning of the two Manipur Bhavans in New Delhi is in a bad shape as most of the staff are non-Manipuri. He also asked the concerned Minister to fill up the vacant posts with Manipuris.

Except one grade IV, two LDCs and one Joint Director of Manipur Information Centre, all are non-Manipuri staff in the Manipur Bhavan at Chanakkyapuri.
