By SPL CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI, June 24 Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr Jitendra Singh today said that NE students in the age-group of six to 18 years studying in Class I to XII will be involved in the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan launched by the Modi Government.

Dr Singh disclosed this at a meeting with representatives of NE youth and student groups here today as a major initiative to bring the youths from the NE further closer to mainstream India and offer them high quality training in the field of science and technology which would enable these students to attend exclusive National Science Training Programme along with their peers from other parts of the country.

Dr Singh said that one of the crucial problems faced by NE is large exodus of youth to other parts of the country and overseas. The two main factors responsible for this are lack of quality education and lack of jobs in the region, he observed.
