NE chapter of Jain trade body launched

GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - The Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), North East chapter, was launched here on Sunday at the joint initiative of the five sects of the Jain community.

Eight new founder chief patron (FCP) members and 70 patron members took oath to follow the ideals of JITO, aiming to ensure development of the Jain community of the North East in social, cultural, religious and educational fields.

Tejraj Gulecha, chairman of the organisation, urged the gathering on the occasion to work together for the overall development of the society with special emphasis on the development of youth.

The NE chapter of the organisation was launched with MP Jain as the chairman and Manoj Sethia as the chief secretary. Rakesh Mehta, president of JITO, spoke on the various projects undertaken by the organisation.
