NDRF rescues straying buffaloes

GUWAHATI, June 6 - NDRF personnel today rescued a herd of domestic buffaloes which had strayed from the Kuruwa chapori located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra towards the east of North Guwahati.

NDRF inspector Banikanta Taid said the herd consisted of 40 buffaloes, mostly female and around six calves. The herd which first came to the notice of NDRF in Uzanbazar area beside the Brahmaputra, was later rescued from behind the Sukleswar temple near Panbazar.

Taid said communication has already been made with the owner of the herd who is a resident of Kuruwa.
