NDRF organises Hindi Pakhwada

GUWAHATI, Sept 14 - Hindi Pakhwada, a fortnight dedicated to promoting the use of Hindi, is being organised by the 1st Battalion, NDRF Guwahati from September 1 to 15 at different locations including battalion headquarters at Patgaon and company locations at Changsari, Mirza, Barpeta, Jorhat, Cachar, Bongaigaon and at the regional response centres in Agartala (Tripura) and Aizawl (Mizoram).

Under the guidance of RS Gill, Commandant of the 1st Battalion NDRF, competitions in essay writing, debate, noting-drafting, quiz and Hindi knowledge were held throughout the fortnight. A committee was formed by the NDRF to encourage use of Hindi in the administrative functioning.

Addressing the personnel of the 1st Battalion NDRF, Commandant Gill said Hindi as a language of communication is enlisted in the United Nations Organisation. �We should put in our best efforts to encourage Hindi not only in official functioning but also in our routine life,� he added. A 15-day special training session was also launched to promote Hindi in day-to-day life and in administrative functioning.
