NDRF conducts awareness camp on COVID-19

GUWAHATI, Oct 11 - Aiming to generate awareness among the common people on taking preventive measures for COVID-19, the 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) today conducted an awareness programme at Uzanbazar Ghat.

The programme included elaboration by the NDRF team on the novel coronavirus disease and types of transmission, infection, prevention and control, proper way of mask-wearing, maintenance of hygiene and social distancing.

A live demonstration on hand-washing was also shown as a part of the programme.

In a statement, Randhir Singh Gill, Commandant, 1st Battalion NDRF, said, �The lockdown is over, but not the coronavirus. So, as a preventive measure, we should continue to follow the norms relating to social distancing, hand hygiene and mask wearing.�

The NDRF team also conducted an awareness programme on COVID-19 in Katamura village, Changsari.

During the awareness programme, rescuers distributed face masks and pamphlets. They also placed posters and hoardings as a preventive measure of COVID-19.
