NDRF Bn rescued over 2,800 flood-hit people so far

GUWAHATI, July 31 - Leading a number of flood rescue operations, the 1st battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has so far rescued more than 2,800 marooned villagers from various locations of the State.

According to RS Gill, Commandant of 1st Bn, the rescue operations are being clubbed with distribution of relief materials while maintaining COVID-19 protocol like social distancing, distribution of masks, sanitizers and sensitizing people on proper handwashing techniques.

Sixteen NDRF teams are being deployed in different locations of the State for a quick response to emergency situations. A relief and rescue drive was today held in Kokrajhar, evacuating marooned villagers and livestock to safer locations.
