GUWAHATI, July 28 - The NDRF in collaboration with the GMCH participated in an awareness campaign of World Hepatitis Day here on Sunday.
On the occasion, NDRF rescuers participated in an awareness programme �Run for Liver� from the GMCH to Nehru Stadium.
World Hepatitis Day is observed to create awareness about the disease which causes inflammation of the liver and claims 1.4 million lives every year worldwide.
The campaign aims to involve as many people as possible to focus together on this issue, raising awareness about various types of Hepatitis and their mode of transmission, educate people about prevention, diagnosis and control of Hepatitis and spread awareness about Hepatitis A and B vaccines.
The 1st Battalion of NDRF generated awareness and ensured participation of the local community in the �Run for Liver� campaign.
