By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 17 NDFB (Ranjan) chief Ranjan Daimary today said that the outfit is not behind any kind of extortion drive in the BTAD area and that the allegations were 'baseless'.

"Since we are on ceasefire, we do not want to violate the ground rules," Daimary said, after he was produced at the Court of Sessions Judge, Kamrup.

Daimary, when asked, also said that preliminary talks between him and peace interlocutor PC Haldar were satisfactory. He, however, stated that the outfit wants the talks to take place in a dignified manner, which is why the members of the outfit are demanding his release.

Meanwhile, the bail petition of Ansai Boro, an accused in the October 30 serial blasts was filed before the court today.

Bail petitions of another three accused are expected to be moved on December 22.
