NDFB (P) flays illegal activities in BTAD area

TEZPUR, Oct 25 � The National Democratic Front of Boroland (Progressive) has condemned the continuing illegal activities like extortion, kidnapping, etc., in the BTAD area. It flayed the abduction of Rahul Jain, a student of Class X and the son of Vinod Jain, a businessman of Udalguri, by antisocial elements and demanded the unconditional release of the student.

In an e-mail, S Sanjarang, Information and Publicity Secretary, NDFB (P), stated that at a time when most organisations, irrespective of caste, creed, religious and political affiliations, have been protesting against kidnapping, looting, killing, extortion, etc., in the BTAD area, unidentified miscreants the student on October 23.

�It is unfortunate that Hindi-speaking people are being targeted by miscreants in the region and the BTAD has become a hub of antisocial elements due to the complete failure of the Home Department of the Assam Government. We urge the district authorities to nab the abductors and rescue Rahul Jain,� he said, adding that the NDFB (P) would extend logistic support to law-enforcing agencies, if required, to nab the kidnappers in particular and curb the activities of antisocial elements in general in the region.

�We are also ready to guard the international border of the country for the sake of protecting the sovereignty and integrity of India provided the Bodoland issue is resolved once and for all through peace negotiations with the NDFB (P),� Sanjarang said.
