By Sobhapati Samom

IMPHAL, April 18 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National president Amit Shah on Saturday said the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would bring development in the Northeastern States.

Addressing a public meeting at Singjamei Chingamathak Hao Ground in Manipurs Imphal West district during his maiden visit to the State, he said that development will come to North East as BJP converts Look East policy to Act East policy.

Shah accompanied by party general secretaries Ram Lal and Tapir Gao, stated that three Cabinet Ministers and five Ministers of State from the Centre have been visiting the NE to oversee the grievances of the people. This had never happened in the 10 years of Congress rule, he claimed.

Stating that the NDA Government at the Centre has created a new chapter for NE by bringing DoNER Ministry from Delhi to the region, the visiting BJP chief said, Now, the government will come to your doorsteps.

Highlighting the Centres move to establish a Rs 100 crore Sports University in Manipur, he said, I hope with this establishment, children of North East will bring gold medals in Olympic Games, like Mary Kom.

Earlier, the BJP president, who started his maiden visit to the NE States to strengthen the party organisation in the region, reached here from Dimapur by road and later addressed the public meeting.
