NCP may contest all 60 seats in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Dec 30 - Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to put up candidates in all the 60 Assembly seats in Meghalaya, if possible, in the upcoming elections, after a meeting of top party leaders held in New Delhi.

The decision was taken after a meeting held between Praful Patel, MP, Narendra Verma, in-charge North East and the party�s State Working President, Vijay Raj and SP Thapa, General Secretary.

It was also decided that another Convention of the party would be held between January 14 to 18 next year at Tura. The central leadership also gave the go ahead to the State unit to take the final call on selection and finalisation of party candidates.
