NCP flays Meghalaya Govt

SHILLONG, June 17 - Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday slammed the Congress-led Government in Meghalaya for failing to provide �good governance and development� to the people in the State.�

The NCP, which faces an existential crisis said, its alliance partner Congress which heads the present Government has failed completely for which �people are unhappy�.

The NCP has two legislators in the 60-member Assembly, but there are reports that both would quit the party before the 2018 Assembly.�

NCP National Secretary Narendra Verma held a press meet to denounce its alliance partner and also the BJP for its �anti-farmer� policies.

Asked why the party is continuing its support to the Government that has not lived up to the expectations of the people, Verma replied: �it is a democratic adjustment.� Verma said the NCP would contest all 60 seats in Meghalaya during the 2018 polls.
