By Correspondent

HAFLONG, April 1 - To check illegal businesses by some unscrupulous persons in Haflong market, the Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa along with Executive Members like Samuel Changsan, Subrata Thaosen, Debojit Bathari, Ihuing Pame etc., and Revenue Officials Saindesh Ardao and others inspected the Haflong Market on Tuesday.

It is learnt that there have been allegations that some businessmen having no valid permits, license or Daw Tax certificates have been running their businesses in Haflong market for a long time and consequently, the NCHAC was incurring a great loss in terms of revenue.

Talking to the media, CEM Gorlosa said, I found that there were many businessmen who did not have proper and valid permits to run the business and thus they have violated the rules and regulations of the NCHAC and for this I would take action against such irregularities. The CEM said that he was not against any person or persons but to run business at Haflong, the traders should have proper permits and certificates or license. He further said that he knew that some officials in some departments were there who did not want to work for the betterment of the district. I have already identified them and am going to take action against them. Since our Government is committed to work for the people and for the betterment of the district, I would leave no stone unturned to maintain the peoples confidence upon us, he said.
