HAFLONG, Nov 3 - The Chief Executive Member of the NC Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Debolal Gorlosa, has expressed serious concern over the sub standard works on the Haflong-Jatinga Road which connects the district headquarters with other places of importance in Dima Hasao district.

Gorlosa, accompanied by the Executive Engineer, PWD, Gautam Paul, today inspected the ongoing works on the road from Zero Point at Jatinga to the Haflong Post Office and found the quality of the works inferior. Specifications relating to width, thickness, etc., have not been followed as per the schedule of road construction.

Executive engineer Roy told this correspondent said such compromise on the quality of construction of such an important road should not be allowed. Since the NH authorities have been incurring large costs in the construction of this road, the substandard works have caused serious concern among the people of Dima Hasao.

CEM Gorlosa told reporters at Jatinga that he had inspected the construction of the Jatinga-Haflong Road and found it of very poor quality. Accordingly, I have moved the higher authorities to take action against the construction company as per law, he said, adding that the work on the feeder road was awarded a long back, but due to the delay on the part of the construction company, the road has remained incomplete till date.
