NCC �Fit India Freedom Run� concludes

GUWAHATI, Oct 2 - NCC cadets of Guwahati GP NCC participated in the concluding event of �Fit India Freedom Run� today. The event, organized by NCC in association with Mayromanok, included a cycle rally and jungle trek.

The cycle rally, comprising NCC cadets, was flagged off from Guwahati by Brig JC Talukdar. The team covered a distance of 30 km up to Chatargaon village, Rani, on the outskirts of the city.

Another team of cadets carried out trekking in the jungles around Chatargaon village, which covered a distance of around 15 km, witnessing the beauty of Theopani waterfall and the meandering streams there.

The NCC cadets also interacted with locals, particularly people of the Rabha community, to whom they conveyed social messages of physical and mental fitness through running, exercises and yoga and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

During the �Fit India Freedom Run� that began on August 15, around 1,750 cadets participated and covered an overall distance of 20,156 km.

NCC volunteers have been playing a crucial role as frontrunners in this movement and encouraging the people to stay healthy during the pandemic.
