NC Hills council praises govt for clearing pending salaries

HAFLONG, Oct 25 - Employees of the NC Hills Autonomous Council praised the State government, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and others concerned, for the sanction of Rs 7741.211 lakh towards the payment of pending salaries and gratuities of the Council employees for the financial year 2018-19.

Samuel Changsan, executive member of the NC Hills Autonomous Council, who has been constantly pursuing the matter for long, informed that Dr AU Choudhury, Commissioner & Secretary, Hill Area Department of the Government of Assam, has written a letter (no. HAD.176/2014/182, dated October 24, 2018) to the Accountant General (A&E), Assam, stating that the Governor of Assam was pleased to accord financial sanction of Rs 7741.211 lakh for the payment of pending salaries and gratuities of the Council employees for the financial year 2018-19.

Meanwhile the Executive Committee of NCHAC, headed by Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and others concerned to solve the salary problem.
