GUWAHATI, Dec 10 � Navajyoti Club posted a deserving 72-run victory against Genesis Club in a quarterfinal match of the Ratanlal Singhania and Mohini Devi Singhania Trophy Ankurjyoti Challenge Limited Over Cricket Tournament.
In a high scoring match at the Judges� Field here today, Navajyoti, after a shaky start, amassed 260 for six. Thanks to a solid 110 not out by Sunil Ranjan Gogoi and 69 by Arminder Singh Oberoi Navajyoti managed to build a massive total. Sunil hit 12 fours and a 6 in his 109-ball knock. Arminder struck 4 boundaries and 5 sixers during his innings of 54 balls.
Genesis batsman Debajit Baruah also remained unbeaten on 101, but despite of his heroics the team was restricted to 178 for 7 in the stipulated 35 overs.
Navajyoti spinner Bikash Chetry took 3 wickets giving away 31 runs.
