GUWAHATI, Sept 19 - On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Natya Prabhakar Satya Prasad Barua, the Natya Prabhakar Satya Prasad Barua Centenary Celebrations Committee will organise a two-day event in association with socio-cultural organisation Jyotirupa at the District Library here on October 30 and 31, stated a press release.
On October 30, ceremonial lighting of the lamp and garlanding will be done in memory of late Barua, besides other programmes, including staging of Mrinal Mahi, a play written by late Barua. On October 31, another play titled Overcoat, written by the late Natya Prabhakar, will be staged. The two plays will be directed by playwright and director Prabhat Goswami.
The organisers have also taken an initiative to publish an informative book on the life and works of late Barua. Interested writers can submit their write-ups to the Editor, Natya Prabhakar Satya Prasad Barua Centenary Celebrations Committee, Jyotirupa, Assam Tribune, Guwahati-3, within September 30.
