Guwahati, April 2: In a notification issued by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by Re 0.80 each on Saturday.
After a break of one day this was the 10th time when petrol and diesel price were hiked in India in the last 12 days. With this the petrol price has increased by Rs 7.20 in the last 12 days.
As per reports, petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 102.61 per litre as against Rs 101.81 previously, while diesel rates have gone up from Rs 93.07 per litre to Rs 93.87.
The increased rates may vary from state to state depending upon the local taxation.
Following the Assembly elections in five States the petrol and diesel prices have been rising. Moreover, the oil prices had gone up within the international market owing to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
