National workshop on MATLAB held at GU

JALUKBARI, July 17 - A national-level workshop on �MATLAB for All� was organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Gauhati University, in association with the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), student branch, Gauhati University, under the IEEE, Kolkata, for 15 days starting on July 1 and concluding on July 15, at the Gauhati University.

A total of 94 participants from various institutes and organisations from different parts of the country, including Kolkata and the North East, took part in the workshop, which focused on developing and learning methodology on different modules including basics, signal processing, image processing, communication and control system toolbox using MATLAB. Eminent speakers from Math Works India Pvt Ltd, IIT-Guwahati, NIT, Arunachal Pradesh, and Gauhati University conducted various sessions during the workshop.

The workshop was inaugurated by GU Rector Prof Hari Prasad Sarma. Prof Manab Deka, Director (in-charge), Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology, and Prasun Paul, Math Works India Pvt Ltd, Jyoti Prakash Medhi, head (in-charge), Department of ECE, and Dr SR Nirmala, coordinator of the workshop, were also present.
