DERGAON, May 5 � In a group A match of the 20th Senior Women�s National Football Championship played at Bokakhat playground in the morning today, Manipur defeated Maharashtra 7-1. In the match, Manipur�s Grace Damrin scored the first goal in the 4th min and the second goal was scored by Prameswary Devi in the 20th min.
Then, Sunita Yadav of Maharashtra scored the lone goal for her team in the 37th min. After that Prameswari again scored in the 48th min. Bala Devi of Manipur then scored a hattrick in the 49th min, 60th min and 73rd min while Mandakini Devi put the final nail in the coffin in the 88th minute of the match. On the other hand, Railways defeated Chattisgarh 11-0. Railway�s Pufy Bompa scored three goals while Manpit Kaur each scored two and Supriya Rout, Sorny Majhi and Jinir Munda scored one goal each.
In the third match , Madhya Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh 3-0. Toshi O Bhutia scored two goals in the 2nd and 39 minutes while Pramita Orang scored the one in the 71st minute.
With the today�s victories, Manipur and Railways have won all the four matches played in group A so far. The semifinalist from group A will be the winning team of the match to be played on May 7 at Bokakhat playground.
