National student award to Morigaon girl

MORIGAON, May 20 � Barasha Das, a student of BA second semester of Cotton College, Guwahati has been awarded with the second National BR Ambedkar Award 2014 by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

Daughter of Bubul Chandra Das, a resident of ward No-5 of Morigaon town Barasha was selected for the award as she showed brilliant result and secured highest marks (90.8%) among the SC girls� students in HS (Arts), 2014 Examination under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council from Ramanujan Junior College, Nagaon.

The award carries Rs 50,000 and a citation. Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon Rakesh Kumar formally handed over the award to Barasha Das in his office chamber today.
