National seminar on Rohingyas on Nov 25

GUWAHATI, Nov 21 - As part of its annual event CONVENSTER 2K17 to be held on November 24-25, the Department of Mass Communication of Asian Institute of Management and Technology is organising a seminar-cum-academic discussion on �Exodus of Rohingyas from Rakhine State of Myanmar: Implications for Assam�, on November 25.

Senior journalist Rajeev Bhattacharyya, BJP spokesperson Meera Borthakur, Congress spokesperson Mukul Sarmah, RSS spokesperson Ranjib Sharma, AASU general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi and social thinker Prof Ismail Hussain have confirmed their participation in the seminar, which will be moderated by journalist Mrinal Talukdar. To be conducted in the seminar hall of AIMT, the event will start at 9.30 am. Some leading personalities of the State from diverse fields are also likely to attend the seminar.

The AIMT will also award two State journalists � one each from print and electronic media � on November 25.

On November 24, a photo exhibition and competition PICTOGRAM 2017 will be held. Students from different colleges have been invited to take part in the event, spot registration of which will be done free of cost. The theme of the PICTOGRAM 2017 will be on topics like portrait, social responsibility, fashion and vintage.
