GUWAHATI, June 27 � A National Conference of the Tibet Support Groups of India will be held here on October 10 and 11 next. The organising committee, headed by RK Khrimey, former minister of Arunachal Pradesh, who is also the chairman of the organising committee visited Guwahati today along with JP Sharma, senior advocate, Delhi High Court, convener of Delhi region and Jigmey Tsultrim, coordinator of Indo-Tibet Coordination Office, New Delhi as a preparatory team.
Khrimey informed the mediapersons that representatives of more than 250 Tibet support groups from across the country will assemble here for the conference. He said that many prominent political leaders and diplomats are likely to take part in the programme.
He informed that the agenda of the conference is to create awareness about the activities and policies of China towards India�s national security and Tibet issues among the people of Northeast India, particularly at Guwahati, being the gateway for the entire region.
He also urged the Prime Minister of India to take up this concern during the Indo-China talks in the coming months, said a statement.
