GUWAHATI, Oct 17 - Mahan Chandra Borah and Dr Prabin Saikia of Assam are among those selected for the Plant Genome Saviour Award by the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers� Rights Authority of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The awards will be presented at a function to be held in New Delhi on October 22. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar will hand over the awards, which will consist of Rs 10 lakh, a citation and a memento each.

While Borah hails from Teok in Jorhat district, Dr Saikia is from Bhogpur Chariali in Lakhimpur.
