By Correspondent

BONGAIGAON, Jan 12 - The All Assam Nath-Jogi Students Union has demanded constitutional safeguard for the community by the government after it was decided to form autonomous councils for different communities by the latter.

To press for this demand, the students group organised a meeting at Barpara public field recently after the administration allegedly denied permission which was sought to take out a protest rally throughout the town.

In his public address, the unions general secretary Arabinda Nath said that they will not let Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal remain in peace unless they get tribal status and satellite autonomous council within a short period.

The students group dashed off a memorandum in this connection to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner after the meeting.
