BONGAIGAON, June 7 - The All Assam Nath-Jogi Students Union has demanded inclusion of a legislator from their community in the Sarbananda Sonowal governments council of ministers, which is likely to be reshuffled soon.

The general secretary of the students body Arabinda Nath while addressing a press meet at Greater Bongaigaon Press Club recently raised this demand and said that they will approach the Chief Minister along with Himanta Biswa Sarma very soon and place their demand for inclusion of Kishor Nath, the single (BJP) legislator from the community and representing Borkhola in Cachar as a minister in the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government.

The Nath-Jogi community which has a population of over 40 lakh in the state has a significant history of contribution and sacrifice in the state. Among the 855 martyrs in the historic six-year-long Assam Movement, 140 were from the Nath-Jogi community, Arabinda Nath recalled.
