GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - Narengi Sporting Club rallied to beat City Police 2-1 in the Jibeswar Goswami Trophy GSA A Division Football League. In a close match at the Nehru Stadium here today, the cops went ahead in the very third minute when Ajoy Basumatari fired home.
In the second session the Narengi boys came out with a positive attitude and struck twice to seal the fate of the match. Thanks to Rabi Lochal Basumatari who drew parity in the 62nd minute and hit the net again in the 82nd minute.
It was first victory for the Narengi team in three matches while City Police lost both the matches they played till date.
