Nalbari teachers spreading awareness on coronavirus

NALBARI, March 18 - Though all the government and private schools in Nalbari district have been declared closed, the teachers are engaging themselves in spreading awareness against the dreaded COVID-19. Most of the teachers in the district after attending their schools visit the nearby villages to make the people aware of the pandemic. In fact, the noble job done by the teachers in Nalbari district has succeeded in creating awareness about the disease.

The cluster resource centre coordinator Mantu Deka held a series of awareness meetings at Kamarkuchi areas during the last two days. He also distributed leaflets among the masses mentioning the precautions to be taken to get rid of this disease. The District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) Simanta Kumar Deka, Block Elementary Education Commissioner of Pub Nalbari Nikunja Barman directed the CRCCs to gear up the awareness drive in their respective clusters only to educate rural folk.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury today visited the Nalbari railway station to take stock of the screening of passengers coming from outside. He also inspected the Nalbari Swahid Mukunda Kakati Civil Hospital and monitored the hygiene maintained in the hospital. An isolation ward has also been kept ready at the hospital. He also directed the Joint Director Umesh Phangshu to keep a close watch on the negligence of doctors towards suspected COVID-19 patients.
