Nalbari secures 2nd position in TB control

NALBARI, May 25 � The Nalbari district TB Control department has secured the second position in the State for its initiatives in detecting new cases and rendering services to the patients.

The Nalbari TB Control department organised a review meeting at the office auditorium on May 22. The review meeting conducted by Dr Surendra Mazumdar, district TB Control Officer was addressed among others by Dr Chittaranjan Pathak, Joint Director Health Services, Dr Bhubaneswar Dutta, District Immunisation Officer, Dr Abani Das, senior doctor Dr Dhrubajyoti Deka, NE consultant of WHO and Dr Nalini Talukdar, Subdivisional Medical and Health Officer.

For rendering yeoman services to the TB patients in the district, Dr Abani Das and Dr Bhubaneswar Dutta were felicitated in the meeting. Ten laboratory technicians working in different parts of the district were also felicitated for their cooperation in achieving the goal.While addressing the meeting, Dr Mazumdar whose efforts brought success to the district said that the working style of the State TB Control Officer Dr Nayanjyoti Das inspired the district staff.

DC�s efforts appreciated: In order to extend moral support to the works initiated by the Nalbari Deputy Commissioner, Dr Om Prakash for the cleanliness and development of the town, a citizen�s meeting was held at Nalbari Natya mandir on May 23. The citizen meetings was organised by Pragatikami Nagarik Mancha, Nalbari and was attended by the leading citizen of the town.

Addressing the citizens� meeting, the Deputy Commissioner called upon the people to extend their cooperation for the all- round development of the town. He also requested the newly-elected body of the Nalbari Municipality board to continue the cleanliness work of the town. A master plan prepared for development of Nalbari town was also presented at the meeting.

The meeting, presided over by Ramcharan Tamuli was also addressed by Sashi Sarma, renowned critic and social activist, Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, SP Nalbari, Makibar Rahman, Chairman of Nalbari Development Authority, Bipasha Das, chairperson of Nalbari Municipality Board and Dr Jayanta Das.
