Nalbari Natya Mandir gets new lease of life

NALBARI, Aug 20 - The Nalbari Natya Mandir, a prime cultural institution of Nalbari district has got a new lease of life after its repair and reconstruction works carried out by the Nalbari district administration. The newly-repaired Nalbari Natya Mandir was formally inaugurated by Ashok Sarma, MLA of Nalbari LAC at a brief function held at the Natya Mandir premises on Saturday.

The Nalbari Natya Mandir was repaired and given a new coat of paint with an amount of Rs 25 lakh released from untied fund. Addressing the meeting, Sarma said that Nalbari Natya Mandir is the only auditorium of Nalbari to hold a public meeting or any kind of cultural activities. He called upon the people to protect the institution.

The inaugural meeting was addressed, among others, by Sanjeeb Kumar Das, DC of Nalbari. Earlier, Sarma also paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Vajpayee.
