NALBARI, March 1 - A quiz competition under the theme �Amar Nalbari, upayuktor prasna raijor uttar� was held at Nalbari Natya Mandir on February 28 on the occasion of National Science Day and Gyan mela.

The Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury himself asked the questions to the audience. The Deputy Commissioner�s questions included civilization, culture and literature of Nalbari district.

In the open quiz competition, people from all age groups participated. Renuka Sarma, aged over 80 answered a question asked by the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner gave away Rs 200 to each one who replied correctly.

It was followed by a general quiz among the students and a science model competition. The open meeting was attended by Ashok Sarma, MLA of Nalbari, Bijoi Baisnava, Inspector of Schools, Nalbari, Simanta Kumar Deka, District Elementary Education Officer, Bhupendra Math Sarma, Deputy Inspector of Schools, Dr Dinamani Bhagawati, former Professor of Nalbari College, among others.

For the intellectual development of the people of Nalbari, the Deputy Commissioner has chalked out a year-long programmes including some important issues.
