NALBARI, March 23 - The Nalbari district administration has been keeping strict vigil on the poll expenditure of contending candidates and illegal transactions of money in all the three Assembly constituencies � Nalbari, Barkhetri and Dharmapur which fall in three different Lok Sabha seats.
Three flying squads and three steady surveillance teams have been working round-the-clock in the district. The teams are carrying out raids to detect illegal transactions, parties carrying cash, among others.
Meanwhile, poll expenditure observer Sunil Kumar Katiar appointed for the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha seat arrived at Nalbari and reviewed the situation with the Deputy Commissioner. He discussed the action taken by the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhury told this Correspondent that the district administration has appointed 3,036 presiding and polling officials to conduct free and fair polls. The first round of training of these officials will be held on March 26 and 27 at Nalbari Commerce College, he added.
