Nahordonga Model Hospital inaugurated at Dergaon

DERGAON, Oct 13 - The BJP-led State Government is trying its level best to decrease maternal mortality rate by providing special care to the mothers.

With several other schemes, the Government is trying to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the State, informed Finance, Health, etc. Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma after inaugurating the Nahordonga Model Hospital near here on Friday.

He also stated that Atal Amrit Yojana would help the poor and the disadvantaged section of the population.

Addressing a large gathering, he highlighted different Government schemes like PMJAY, Atal Amrit Yojana, special financial assistance for nutrition upto Rs 12,000 to pregnant women of the tea garden community, old-age pension etc.

The 30-bed hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 5.05 crore will benefit about 1.5 lakh people of Dergaon LAC. At the inaugural meeting moderated by the SDMO of Missamara BPHC Dr Apurba Kumar Sarmah, was also addressed by Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa.

The Joint Director of Health Services of Golaghat district Dr Ratul Bordoloi delivered the welcome address while Golaghat Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra offered the vote of thanks.

As a part of the official itinerary, the Minister also inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Dergaon Sahitya Sabha.

Addressing a public meeting chaired by Nurul Sultan, the Finance Minister praised the effort to construct a new building of the State�s premier literary body.

Significantly, the Minister assured a sum of Rs 25 lakh for completion of the project which was estimated to cost Rs 1.25 crore. Taking part in the meeting, Khumtai MLA Mrinal Kumar Saikia also announced a sum of Rs 5 lakh for the ongoing Dergaon Public Library project.

The meeting on the occasion was also addressed by Dergaon MLA Bhabendra Nath Bhorali.

Earlier, Minister Atul Bora inaugurated the Kamal Sarma Seminar Hall while MLA Mrinal Kumar Saikia formally released the Dergaon Sahitya Sabha journal. Similarly, MLA Bhabendra Nath Bhorali inaugurated the president-secretary�s room, while Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi and Padum Rajkhowa etc. also addressed the meeting.
