DIBRUGARH, May 24 - Complimenting Sarbananda Sonowal on assuming office as the 14th chief minister of Assam today, Dibrugarh Nagarik Sangha working president Jogendra Nath Borah said the Sangha wishes the new government all success, and hoped that all genuine causes of the State would be attended to.
Borah said the expectations from the new alliance government in the State would be high, and hence pose challenges to chief minister Sonowal. �But I am sure Sonowal and his team would leave no stone unturned in the interest of the State.�
He also expressed his hopes that Dibrugarh�s unique needs would be attended to by the new government. He said the city is in dire need of new sports and educational infrastructure. Borah also added that Assam urgently needs land reforms, and steps to halt the rapid land loss of the ethnic population.
