GUWAHATI, May 5 - Jorhat is making a bright start with 64 for two while chasing Nagaon�s first innings total of 186 in the second quarterfinal of the Elite Group Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament for the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy.
At the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara cricket stadium here today, Nagaon were asked to bat first and they managed to score 186 all out in 55.5 overs.
Ranji player Dhiraj Goswami was the leading scorer with 41 while former Guwahati player Arminder Singh Oberoi contributed 34. Ashok Kumar Saini was the other notable contributor for Nagaon with 32. It was Ishak Ali who ripped through the Nagaon batting line up with a six-wicket haul.
In reply Jorhat were 64 for two when stumps were drawn for the first day. Md Arif and Pargat Bora were at the crease with 28 and 5 respectively.
