GUWAHATI, May 6 - Nagaon cruised into the last-four stage along with Guwahati in the Nuruddin Trophy Elite Group Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament.

Nagaon beat Jorhat by the virtue of their 35-run first innings lead as the two-day quarterfinal match of the championship ended in a draw at the Barsapara stadium here today.

Chasing Nagaon�s first innings total of 186, Jorhat, resuming at an overnight score of 64 for two, were all out for 150 in 81.3 overs. Barring Md Arif (61 off 209 balls) no other Jorhat batsman could offer substantial contribution to their total. Utpal Hazarika added 23. For Nagaon Ashok Kumar Saini came out with four wickets while Amit Sinha took two. In the second innings Nagaon were in trouble with 83 for seven. But the match ended at that juncture after completion of 32 overs.

In the third quarterfinal, Goalpara will play against Dibrugarh from tomorrow.

Jorhat 1st innings: (overnight 64/2) 150 (Md Arif 61, Utpal Hazarika 23, Pargat Bora 18, Ronak Kr Bucha 16; Ashok Kr Saini 4/36, Amit Sinha 2/23). Nagaon 2nd innings 83/7 (Amit Sinha not out 25, Debojit Boruah 22; Istiak Ali 3/19, Prabal Borkataky 2/27).
