Nagaland virus tally mounts to 4,107

DIMAPUR, Sept 4 - Nagaland�s COVID-19 tally rose to 4,107 with the detection of 41 new cases today.

Among these cases, 23 are from Dimapur, 17 from Kohima and one from Phek, Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha said. Active surveillance and contact tracing are in progress to prevent further spread of the infection, he added.

Out of the 4,107 positive cases detected so far, there have been 3,351 recoveries. The active cases stand at 736. There were eight deaths due to the virus.

As per the severity of symptoms, 730 active cases are asymptomatic and the rest six are mild, Sinha said.

He added that of the 4,107 positive cases, 1,740 cases are of the armed forces, 1,289 of returnees, 302 cases of frontline workers and 776 of traced contacts.

A total of 948 persons are currently under facility quarantine, the Principal Secretary (Home) added.
