MANGALDAI, Sept 28 � Nagaland Police have reached the final of the Amba Medhi football tournament after they defeated ASEB Sports Club 3-2 in the first semifinals played at the Mangaldai Stadium here today.
In the keenly-contested match, Soku of Nagaland Police fired two goals in the 2nd and 5th minutes of the games to give his side a firm grip on the match. Then ASEB�s Nitu Narzary reduced one in the 26th minute.
After the break, Sanjay Boro of ASEB fired the equaliser in the 50th minute. Then came Yapang of Nagaland Police who scored the winning goal for his side in the 65th minute.
Tomorrow SSB, Siliguri will take on JCB Villai Brothers in the second semifinal.
